Refunds AND Returns
At Generation Soil, we aim to ensure that every customer is delighted with their purchase. Our products are made with care, often by hand, and support our mission to regenerate Bristol’s soils through community composting, education, and creative collaboration.
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, please review our returns and refund policy below. This policy applies to all purchases made through our official website: https://www.generationsoil.co.uk/
1. Return Period
You have 30 calendar days from the date of delivery to return an eligible item for a full refund or exchange. To qualify for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging.
If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.
2. Non-Returnable or Limited Return Items
Because many of our products are handmade, small-batch, or perishable, certain items are not eligible for return unless they are damaged or defective upon arrival.
Non-returnable items include:

Living compost and biochar (perishable products)

Compost workshop bookings (non-refundable once attended)

Digital guides and downloads (non-returnable once accessed)

Handmade limited-edition items (see Section 3 below)
3. Handmade and Limited-Stock Products
Our handmade products, including Crochet Worms by Sofie and Handmade Mushrooms by Connor, are individually crafted in small quantities here in Bristol. Each piece is unique, with natural variations that are part of their charm.
Because these items are limited edition, we can only accept returns in the following cases:

The product arrives damaged or defective.

You contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange the return.
If your item qualifies for a return, please email us at alex@generationsoil.co.uk with your order number, photos (if applicable), and a short description of the issue. We’ll get back to you within 3 working days with instructions for returning or exchanging your item.
Please note that due to limited stock, exchanges may not always be possible but we’ll do our best to offer a suitable alternative or issue a full refund.
Four. Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email notification confirming receipt and the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed automatically to your original method of payment within 5–10 working days.
Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the original shipping fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
Five. Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged.
If you need to exchange a handmade or limited-stock item, please email hello@generationsoil.co.uk with your order details and we’ll confirm availability or process a refund if an exchange is not possible.
6. Shipping Returns

You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning your item unless the item was damaged or defective upon arrival. We recommend using a tracked shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
